The SeaA Poem by SherriffDelve deep beneath the waves.
Do you see what I see?
I see the sea, it's beauty the fragile insecurities I see a frame, devoid of limitations minor fractions of curiosity Do you see what I see? A vast sea and an inclination a dabbled blue incandescent complacency I see a patchwork sky pinpricks of unfiltered light but below that surface, suffice it to say, life of all kinds, small kinds, yet we cannot survive Shallow, the sapphire depths glisten like a prize and further out still, pockets so deep darker heavier blue sanctuaries that hide beyond me glinting reflections caught in my eyes refractions of light caught between sea and sky and for that one small fact I might slip below the tide. © 2019 Sherriff |
