Brain damagedA Poem by Sherriff
To be lying on the ground again
To be an old renounced friend As softly as the breeze might stride I wonder where my thoughts may hide For surely underneath my skin Below my tendons wearing thin Through my veins and arteries Below the skull where shadows breed We find a shattered dislodged piece a fragment no more than matter see Roaming through my head set free A place of hate imbeded with disease My friend my mind slowly sinks A stone tossed out to waters deep Now just a memory beyond all reach Im lost somewhere beneath the sea © 2019 Sherriff |
