Remember Home

A Poem by Sherriff

Rain toils over ochre painted deserts
sand over these clay pans weathered,
sun sets in defined transitions,
and worn hands hold strong my position,
traced lines like the shine of enamel,
Similar to the tracks of these animals,
lost in the wind like the voice of our troubles,
wandering minds at their greatest slowly humbled,
another days passing
searching for rest in our struggles,
watching as quickly time wears away into nothing,
as night fades in and the work day is done,
dreams take over as we lay beside ghost gums

Thank you very much Bob I'm glad we can relate on this
It is beautiful. I love it. I think maybe a larger font would help people like me read it a little easier, not a criticism, I often don't know where my glasses are. I really enjoyed this. Thank you.
