Do You Know?

Do You Know?

Go ahead close your eyes, tell me what you see.

Can you picture the hurt that you caused?

The pain where you brought me down to my knees.

I’m sure you didn’t see the clause.

Where in the script, you put the beat on pause.

Could you see my hands up?

Where the wind blows.

Could you even feel my stomach drop down to my toes?

The elevation was above the max.

Not seeing how our story would unfold.

Having no fear or safety net down below.

Walking on the tight rope.

No sweat off your brow to show.

From your first breath in through your nose.

Even though having both arms and elbows.

When hit there’s no inherent funny bone.

No discomfort to show.

Do you know?

It is what it is. Sometimes the truth it blows.

Now I’m feeling as if I have nowhere to go.

Aimlessly my spirit once was free.

Was floating up in the clouds. But that’s before the truth was told to me.

Had a flash. The kind that shot me down.

Heard my inner voice.

I couldn’t believe it.

Said your love for me was nothing but one big show.

Realized I just had to go.

Before being brought down any further.

To the lowest of lows.

No separation is easy. When two people find un-even ground. Sadness will come. Dear Tara, I could feel the disappointment in the words. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
