MY TEACHERA Story by Ridannelyn Gibs Gayares GalloA dedication for my dearest teacher: Ms. Ana Mae Gayatin for her full support and understanding towards her students.Of course, every student or pupil has a favorite teacher. We may ask why she or he is your favorite teacher, when a child answers this kind of question he or she will answer like: “Because she or he is teaching my favorite subject.” Or maybe like: “He or she is very nice and funny.” And once a child will leave his or her school to start another level of school years he or she will surely miss his or her dearest teacher, for all of the works, hardships, sacrifice and love the teacher gave to his or her pupil. And this is also happening to me, yes, I have a favorite teacher whom I left in elementary school only to continue my studies in High School. The name of that teacher is Miss Ana Mae Gayatin, a grade six teacher in English and a librarian. My first reason why I like her is because she is the librarian who is in charge of the library and library means books which are my impressions. When classes started, she was our advisor and English teacher which is my number two reason. As her class for us went on and on, I found myself starting to like her because her teachings were clear and make sense.
When she found out that I am good in English and spelling, she made me along with my fellow top ten joined the try out in spelling for the Language Festival. But then, instead of rejecting me to join any part of the contest for failing the spelling test, she gave me another chance to perform by placing me in the essay contest, she gave me an essay test and I successfully did it. Since she taught me how to write essays, I started to learn more in my grammars, the correct pronunciation and punctuations, I said to myself, “Well, even this is just a tutor for essays, this is also improves my English skills.” This means her teachings are very useful. Winning the first prize of essay writing in our school and winning the second prize of essay contest in Calatrava are two the most treasured moments with her in my life because it reminds me the times when we work together to improve my works. Every time, sadness or happiness, failures or victories, Miss Gayatin is always there for us. In times when we fail, she encourages us to try again and to have patience. In times when we succeed, she rejoices with us and always proud of us. In our eyes, she is the mother-teacher for us even we really are not her children, but still she loves us.
Because we are grown kids and now in high school, we need to leave our elementary school along with our beloved teacher, but she will forever in our memories till end, and I wonder when we shall meet again, I don’t know but God can tell. The last words I‘ll say on this paper is,
“Father, thank you for making her our advisor, we, pupils ask you to bless her and give her grace, the same way you did to us all children, my Lord, Papa.” For Miss Ana Mae Gayatin. © 2013 Ridannelyn Gibs Gayares Gallo |
