MOTHER DIANA AND LITTLE RAIN

MOTHER DIANA AND LITTLE RAIN

A Poem by Ridannelyn Gibs Gayares Gallo
"

For my mother, Daisy Gallo's love for me and her family. And to all mothers with their children for their love.

"

Mother Diana, sweet and calm as the dove

Longed for a child to love.

One day, a baby girl finally came

And Little Rain was her name.

Mother Diana loved Little Rain

And kept her in fine clothes

From head to toes

And their hearts were joined together by a golden chain.

Little Rain grew as a free-spirited wee lass

That Mother Diana couldn't fully control

For Little Rain was full of soul

Her mother thought, "How she grew so fast."

During her school days

Little Rain has many problems that she faced

But Mother Diana gave her all of her supports

She sacrificed all for Little Rain and never aborts.

After her schooling

Little Rain might be a painter who paints

Or a writer who writes

And Little Rain chose to be an author who kept on writing.

Years later, Little Rain lived a life of her own

And Mother Diana was all alone

Yet happy for her daughter

Seeing her face full of laughter.

Alas! Mother Diana grew old and dead

And Little Rain was very sad

So she wrote her a poem about her mother deaR

For her love for Mother Diana never tear.

In heaven, Mother Diana said, "Dry your eyes, sweetie

If you are happy, I am happy

So stop your tears

I have lived through my years.
