Periods of WarA Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
I have been beaten by
Silence I have experienced pain And violence Periods of war have been Waged outside my door Despite the blood above The entry way My doubts have caused Me not to pray Anymore as my faith Only unlocks the doors Of war As the hounds from hell Can tell that I am in My shell and that They should not pass Over me Because I don't believe That he has set me free Therefore despite the blood Above my door I am at war With demons With ghouls and Other fools Including me Bound forever Longing to be free Revelation three twenty Is no longer funny There is nothing left I am deaf I can't hear the knocking At my door anymore A prisoner of war Who has been beaten By silence I have experienced more pain And violence Examine the famine As I hunger and thrist For the truth That was lost in my Youth As the fruit My fruit was supposed To have been forbidden Hidden Now I walk through The valley of death Holding my breath I fail to inhale or Exhale The mail has been Returned to the sender I don't want to remember That cold night in December I choose to forget Still I have regrets As these periods of War I must endure Despite the blood That is smeared above My door © 2015 Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J.
