Seasons PastA Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
Sweet bread made
From scratch Along with a batch Of chocolate cookies Made the same way A perfect match Knowing after Thanksgiving Day That Santa Clause Would soon be on his way Fried turkey light and crisp Add some string beans And other dishes Soon we will be making Christmas wishes Under the Christmas tree Oh what a wonderful time It will be, it should be It could be but for me The holidays make me sad People don't appreciate What they have No one smiles or laughs Any more My heart is sore As I remember the olden Days Those Golden days have Slipped away As grandparents now Walk around heaven All day Sad because we don't Pray or say grace So much time we waste We spend more time hating Instead of appreciating Each other Why do we hate each other? Cause at the end of the day If we would just pray and Be thankful and grateful He would be merciful And we would find Peace in our hearts and Minds As Christmas time Would be the reason For the season Not the gifts one receives But to believe That the birth of Christ Was to ensure that We may have life Abundantly That is what the season Means to me © 2015 Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J.
