She Chose Her

She Chose Her

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

I hate that my roommate
Is gay
That's all I am going
To say
I wish I could stay
But I can't stand
To see her that way
So I am going to
Protect me from
Her sexuality
Cause she is so confused
See someone got to win
In the end
So it has to be
Me
Cause I refuse to lose
Despite what I feel inside
I am going to let it ride
Cause my pride
Won't let me be
Defeated by her
Cause she
Can do things I can't
Cause I won't
Justify the lie
And because the
Lines are not straight
I won't hesitate
To leave
Cause the weight
Of uncertainty
Is certainly
weighing
Heavily on me
I refuse to bleed
Best believe
The best thing is
For me to leave
She can't give
Me what I need
Cause I hate,
Hate, hate hate, hate
That my roommate
Is gay
That's all I am
Going to say
It is best that I
Walk away
Cause if I stay
It makes harder
Every day
I know it is wrong
But I am not that
Strong
So I am saying
So long
So long
So long
