Cymbals came
In today
Understand
No more hand stands
Or empty hands
Now my praise
Will have purpose
As the truth will
Surface
Now these cymbals
Are banging together
Is my situation any
Better?
Clapping for bananas

Still I am all alone
As I surrender to
Syringes and oxycodone

A feeling that you are forced to perform (like in the old Westerns where someone shot at someone else's feet and told them, "Dance!") harkens back to Shakespeare noting that "all the world's a stage, and all of us merely players." (Also the title of a live album by Rush). I really like the trajectory your writing has taken in the last month or so; you seem more confident, as if you've found your legs and CAN dance if required to. thanks Dan I guess the medication is helping me get my legs and confidence. Although I am ill I just feel like I am in different place and state since I retired.I feel like the illness has taken some things away but I am glad that at this point it is only noticable to me.

I'm sorry for your illness, Rico. Can you divulge what it is, or is that private? Reason I ask is that I too spend each day heavily medicated: bipolar and anxiety disorders with features of OCD. I have, but am not defined by, these disorders. I used to keep them locked away but disclosing them has helped, even though it got me forced out from my state Civil Service position. I'm praying for you, for a recovery from the pneumonia and for getting a handle on your ketoacidosis (I'm not sure if that's a normal manifestation of diabetes or not...if it's possible I hope you recover from that also). So get well quick-like Rico. take good care...dan

Lol....you have to have a bit of comedy or you will go nuts.....the visual is amusing and sad. Surrendering and yet forced to do things in order to survive.
