I Wrote Myself A Letter

I Wrote Myself A Letter

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

I wrote myself a letter
I have to admit that
I feel so much better
I had so much to say
Now I am walking away
Although I am now vulnerable
It feels wonderful
Understand now that
I can clap my hands
Stomp my feet too
Who knew what I
I have been through
I grew despite the pain
You can't hurt me again

So I wrote myself a letter
I have to admit
That I feel so much
Better
I had so much guilt
That my house was built
On pain and lies
Didn't know that they
Were cracks in
My foundation
Who knew that
My situation
Grew worst every
Single day
Now I have so
Much to say
That I am putting
It all in a letter
I feel so much better
Cause today
I found the courage
To walk away
Every phrase I write
Changes my life
Although I am vulnerable
It feels wonderful
To be finally free
I found the courage
To love me
