Sticky Note 1

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

Poetry From ICU

"
You've taken
Blood
Urine
Hope
Sight

In my mind there is
Nothing else left to take?

Loneliness and
Isolation are
Always on the
Wall
Making sure
Their needs
Will always be
Best served

Today I look at
The gray pitcher
That I am clinging too
With knees and feet
Propped
In a semi-embryonic
State

I am basking in the
Coolness of each
Ice cube
Sweating down the
Sides
Oozing through
The gaps of my
Unlotioned dry
Cracked hands
I am
Rubbing the pitcher
Side to side
Until my hands
Are frigid
Hydrating my
Dry fallacies and
Realities

I had finally
Allow my face
To join in
Up to that point
I had nothing to
Celebrate

oh that last stanza...terrific, is as the entire atmosphere you create---yes, when all we are left with for excitement is "rubbing the pitcher"---

very good stuff, here.
