RE: How Long A Poem Should Be?

Came from a review from the poem Utopia

The length or the amount of words don't lend to its strength
Unless the message is delivered and received
Succinctly, clearly or using brevity
Than the purpose to which it is intended is best served
When it is believed, conceived and perceived
Than the length doesn't matter
As long as the words and the message
Are both heard

Another viewpoint... A poem is like a dress it needs to fit the occasion to which it is worn.

it's a thing for me only because I understand the attention span of people and I am always keeping that in mind....face it there are some lazy readers out there and you have to be able to capture their attention quickly so you get their message to them......

I completely agree my friend. As long as a connection is felt and perceived, it doesn't matter if it's a handful of words or a complete novel. The impact can be every bit as meaningful. Connection is the key.

i concur, even though my philosophy has always been "less is more" in order to have strongest impact.
