So I come home
From work
Cook her meals
Do the laundry
Clean the house
From top to bottom
Make sure the
Bills are paid
Put gas in the
SUV and
Take it to the
Dealership
To be serviced
Have it detailed
And do everything
On the "Honey to
Do" list
Only to here her
Complain
That she has
No time to eat
The bathwater
Is cold
Only to curl
Up in the bed
With the laptop
Still no time
For me
Cause I am not her

The pain of when you realize you aren't at the top of the priority list for someone you love deeply is a feeling that never goes away. Even if you come to move on and love someone else, you still feel that imprint that was left on you by them. It's a terrible blow. No matter what you do it's never good enough. This has very real subject matter that hits home for a lot of individuals.
