Safe Poem 2015A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
You can relax
Outside your soul You can play with Other poets safely You can take trips Back and forth in time Talk about trees Beauty but not About their bark Or the lynching Hidden in their Trunks Without having to Stop or yield No cautions on How you feel No long poems About social ills Or short ones That call you to Action Blank TVs refuse To show you the News because You will be afraid That your cooking Shows would get Interrupted While Ferguson is Burning What you need is Comfort from Complacency You need milk That never spoils Lies that are not Bitter And truths that Are gentle to swallow You need safety From a poet like me Someone That doesn't cause you Any ripples or waves In your consciousness Something you won't EVER GET FROM ME!!!! You need a Safe Poem P.S. The Squirrel and I was just a test poem to see if you were paying attention. © 2015 Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. DorseyReviews
