He walked the earth like me
His father was a God just like mine

Because he walked so close
To the equator his hues were dark
Just like mine

His hair was baked
By the Egyptian sun
Knotted, nappy, dreaded
Just like mine

He was a
King amongst kings
Nevertheless
His kingdom was not
Of this world
Just like mine

Ridiculed and persecuted
By misunderstanding
Just like me

Forced to bear his
Own cross under
The weight of iniquity
Willingly to die
For all of mankind's
Sins?

Nope not likely
Or even slightly
Cause righteously
My spirituality
Has boundaries
So that might be
Where the similarities
End cause I am human
