Why I Hate Trees

Why I Hate Trees

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

I hate trees
Especially the
Ones that grow
Next to the plantation
Lullabies of Jim Crow
As their wigs
And limb's sway
To tunes of the KKK
Necks broken
Enslaved minds closed
I suppose
Hearts open
Souls hoping
These
Plantation lullabies
Dry eyes
And puts
Jim Crow
And his babies
To Sleep forever
Under the blankets
Of freedom and equality
