The Winter of Our Discontentment

The Winter of Our Discontentment

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

In the Winter of Our Discontentment
Jack Frost sent hail our way
Flattened the tires in our souls
Snow to deep for the SUV or the sleigh
He froze our hearts from our
Adulterous state
Knowing in his mind
That Spring time
Will thaw out our hate
As the weight of our
Infidelities
Will cause us to drown
Because there
Is no compassion
To be found
As we are frozen
By Jack's hands
He plans
He hopes and prays that
He can keep Spring away
As he blankets the land
He hopes we understand
That in the Winter of Our
Discontentment
We renew our
Commitment
As this storm will pass
Cause troubles don't last
Even in gale force
Winds and Arctic blast
The thaw of forgiveness
Will wash away the sins
Of our past

Again I enjoyed this poem the idea that perhaps is meant to hold is in solitary confinement to gives some time to repent but we are soon released so we simply bide our time, I like it.
