My Muse Is A Worldly Traveler

My Muse Is A Worldly Traveler

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey

My muse is worldly
Traveler
Whose passport
Has been stamped
Many times
From journeys
In my mind
Along with
Jailhouse tats
Hidden on the back
Of my soul
My tramp stamp
Hidden
Beneath my dreadlocks
Reminders of where
I was forced to stop my
Rumps through
The Sahara
Saragheti
No one expected
Me
To survive
I am alive
Even the
Fallout from
Nagasaki never
Stopped me
Glows from radiation
Barely contaminated
My situation
My muse
Survived Holocaustic
Showers
As the quest for power
Caused bombs to
Drop every hour
These times
Weren't so aMusing
Mirroring the time
I had to hide
From apartheid
Cause a shine like mine
Is like a blood diamond
A rare find in the mind

The Trans Atlantic voyage
On the open sea opened me
Cause openly I  didn't see
Cause I was blinded by slavery
On the auction block my long
Flowing dreadlocks were chopped
Named changed to something -son
Others experienced that too;
As the violation grew my muse never knew
That these lies were ever true
So I found the tracks underground
As conductors led me north
As my muse went back and forth
Cause freedom could not be
Contained in chains as liberty
Had to be maintained
3/5 fractionalization
Tested Free Speech in the nation
As inequality needed erasing
Cause equality was worth chasing

As you look at more stamps
In my book
From France I took the chance
Forsaking romance for revolution
Cause the solution
Had to come by any means
In order to keep the dream alive
My muse their muse all had
To survive that means being used
And abused by bringing light
To the issues
So it seems the untold dreams
Of Velma and Thelma from Selma
Died on the side of the road at
The hands of the KKK
Refusing to give up their rights away
Even today my muse is yearning
That Watts and Ferguson are burning
The pages of history as the quest
For equality never rest it is a test
That stresses my muse everyday
As it finds a away to write and
Be the light that shines brought for all the
World to see a beacon of hope for
All humanity
