She Needs

She Needs

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

Some people need to have everything explained and can't fathom that some things just exist.

"
She needs to feel everything
She needs any and everything
Explained
Like the source
of her pain
Your pain
The world's pain
Then again
Every drop of rain
Every piece of grain
Needs to be explained
Why does every situation
Need justification?
Does the mustard seed
Feel the need to question
Its might
When the mountain
That needs to be moved
Is not in sight?
Does questioning
Its faith negate
The weight of
Something great
That may be in store
But wait
Is there more?

Why does she need
To know
How the river flows
Or why does the
Wind blow
From east to west
My guess
It is her nature
In her DNA
To question why
The trees sway
Why does it snow
In May?
And
Is it useless to pray
When you question
Whether or not there
Is a God?
So in this regard
Can she disregard
Her natural inclination
That everything
For her needs
An explanation and
That some things
Don't need to explained
They simply just exist
Maybe one day
She will understand this?

one "it's" needs to be changed to "its" and "the world's pain"
but just slight fix ups...

overall, this poem could easily be about my favorite poet, emily dickinson....is there a God?...well she would say, "show him to me" ---emily needed an explanation for everything...otherwise she could not believe it....she didn't much believe in mysteries of life...everything had a purpose, a reason, a definition...
and there are many people like that...my parents never really understood my poetry at all...too abstract for them...they always think on that black and white level...what you see is what you get, and if you don't see it in front of you, you don't get it.

i really like this piece...

When we just accept that things just are, we are never challenged. That mustard seed, moving the mountain, had to question on some level, or it would remain buried beneath the mountain of soil, never sprouting, never growing. So, yes. Question everything. Feel everything. She can't ignore her natural inclination to question. It's like air, oxygenated life being breathed into everything. Growth comes after the question. Even if the answer is, just because it 'is'... Beautiful poem though...as always.
