A Different Cloth

A Different Cloth

A Poem by Jerome F Knox III pseudonym Nefarious J. Dorsey
"

A twist on the moth and flame scenario fused with the ideology of the Phoenix.

"
I am cut from a different cloth
I am a different kind of moth
I am not attracted to the flame
I mask my pain and shame
So no one knows my name
I have no desire to be
Burnt by
The fire
I aspire to ascend higher
Foresaking fame
Only the Phoenix is
Allowed to call out
My name
Cause her flames
Will change me
I will be reborn
No longer torn
Still i am cut from a different
Cloth
Still indifferent but a better
Moth ?

really like your use of rhyme and in-rhyme too....usually not a rhyme fan, but it really works well in this piece....enhances the flow but it's subtle...

like the flame that shows the changes as someone who betters him or herself and aspires to ascend higher.
