On the PeakA Poem by Rick
I've stood there too, in rare air
Cold wind blowing hard, biting A pinnacle on the roof of the world Earth stretches out in all directions Possibilities, but also choices Endless, infinite directions But there's the balk, the hesitation Which direction is right, true? How must I go knowing what I must do? Do I let my heart lead my head? Or do I let my head lead my body? First step is off the peak, foot hanging in air Heart pounding, palms damp That first movement is most frightening But it is a direction chosen, a way, a path Not the destination, but the journey started The next step is so much easier. © 2010 RickReviews
