Songs of the HeartA Poem by Rikkevi RueIf I could name the thirst...then I might fill it
The heart of a child soars with wonder, at the beauty seen in simple things, the song of a brook, the curve of a flower, a young bird finding its first wings. The heart of a lover yearns with passion, for the ardor borne of woman, of man, the song of the night, the bliss of surrender, the gentle ache of caressing hands. The heart of a mate with pride will brim, when loyalty fosters virtue's plan, the comfort in faith, the strength of commitment, bring trust only devotion can. The heart of an elder bides with patience though the end is ever drawing near, the sweet song of life, the gift of fulfillment, yet lift them high, above the fear.
So though dark days lay strife upon their weary hearts
and sorrow’ wreak, there suffer pain, delay at dawn the eager hopes of those who seek, Compassions light still leads them on divine the joy that love can bring that empty hearts yet unfulfilled Copyright 2011 Rikkevi Rue All rights reserved © 2011 Rikkevi RueAuthor's Note
