My First LoveA Poem by Rikkevi Rueour greatest love brings the greatest joyFirst Love If e’er the censors from afar reign down to quell my love, That was my first love which love was truest, Echoed in my soul deep through it, Reluctant feet dragged o’er its brink, At first to fall yet then to leap, Survive and grow down all times ages, Be writ in thousands scrolls and pages, Inspire devotions, odes and rages, Yet still to puzzle ponderous sages, But ne’er to understand, her intimate demands, or absolute command… Her sweet caress that stirs my heart to rapture, Her bold embrace ignites to flame my soul, Her sentiment to pacify me after, Her passionate fire again doth make me whole. She’s held me close since dawn of man, and tread the path beside me, Through hate, through pain and bitter loss she’d succor and revive me, And when the joy burst from my breast she danced on air so lightly, My secret dreams, my hopes and fears play ‘cross her face so rightly. Who can this myst’rous maiden be that holds all men fast in her sway, Who favors none yet conquers all still pleases in most every way? Both muse and bart possess her heart her smile within their craft doth play, Thine ear, thine voice are oft her choice to hear her song and sing her praise, Behold- ‘tis true! You’ve loved her too for MUSA is my first love’s name… Now listen closely…d’you hear her play? by Rikkevi Rue copyright 2011 © 2011 Rikkevi RueFeatured Review
