BountifulA Poem by Rikkevi Ruereminiscing on the past and the blissfulness of childhoodBountiful Remember, soft summer winds
at night, lilac scents and
streetlight moths, and silhouetted
garden walks, illuminated. For they don’t
stay, but run away in
time, so they can be
remembered. Remember, houselights
framed in happy glow, cherry trees and
full green lawns, and painted porch
swings, swinging. For they don’t
wait, but search
forgotten time, where they may be
a memory. Pleasant
feelings, bright balloons, balmy sun-warmed,
afternoons, night life
carnies, midnight swoons, teenage lovers. Springday
mornings-crystal air, blooming flowers,
earthy smell, midday wheat
field- lazy bed, summer coming. Do you remember? they may, like
childhood, run behind, to lose
you-searching, children’s game, but never lost,
though deep, they hide, within you, to be remembered. copyright Rikkevi Rue 2010 all rights reserved © 2010 Rikkevi RueFeatured Review
