2nd SonnetA Poem by Rikkevi Ruehumorous view of religions assertions about death2nd Sonnet 16 Nov 2010 Is death no more than “flesh doth rot below” but serves to grace some mantle- ornate urn, no ghost or soul or spirit- wraith to show no “up to Hea’n” nor “down to hell to burn?” Some whistle past the grave and worry not, some worry to the grave and whistle nil, but rare ’s the man who never weighed in thought what price his deeds when death presents the bill. Still scriptures teach for some that Heaven waits and plenty heed godspel and strive to learn the path may lead them up- despite their faith, in deference to a fate where sinners burn.
