The format of the Tanka appeals to me very much. I love how you divided up your Tanka into three lines plus two and how artistically you divided the two. It's like the beginning and the end of the relationship. A very warm, tender write with a sense of loss on completion of the relationship, for me. I love your chosen piece of Japanese Artwork and the happy picture you paint of the lovers who are drawn like magnets to each other and a sense of poignant release is felt when the relationship is terminated. So much imparted to the reader in five lines of sublime poetry. Lovely work, Richard! Thank you for sharing...

Tanka is one of my favorite forms of poetries. Richard, you've painted the emotions with some beautiful, soft, unalloyed words. It feels like a karmic pull. I too have felt it somewhere. Anyway, nowadays I'm trying not to read too much between some hollow lines of this world. Great write!

How can some words be so beautifully sad? As in the meeting and departing... perhaps, more so in the knowing. Yet, those that touch our lives in such wonderful ways, truly never depart. It seems to be that we hold those moments close, they comfort us, and forever cherish what was gifted. Sometimes things don't turn out they way we want them to. Sometimes we have to settle for the little gifts. :) Aww what a Tanka! Beautifully written with every felt word... perfected illustrated. Heart-tugging little Sunday morning read. :-)
