Gracious Prayer (gratitude)

In honoring Robert Trakofler (Bad Bunny) in his own poetic style: Quatrains in 6/8/6/8 count, with aabb rhymes.

Gracious Prayer

Wait! Let me set the stage:

Listen well ere turning the page.

A poet friend of mine,

more than once … has met The Divine.

One can merely deduce

what happens when a soul’s set loose,

free of body and brain,

before returning once again.

Reborn’s not a mere word;

blessed are they to whom it’s occurred.

My soul gives gracious prayer

your Savior was beside you there.

We give thanks on our knees,

you’re gifted a new life’s reprise.

’Twas a scary askew

your struggling heart put us through.

An opportunity

to strengthen your impunity,

has been kindly bestowed …

in faith, body, and full mind-load.

Now, I see you’re astir,

from peaceful slept nights that occur;

perhaps, happy psalms sung

as “off” your comforter is flung!

The sun … in rising low,

each treetop's kissed-by its warm glow.

Before gracing your eyes,

awakes life’s colors’ bright surprise.

“O’ glory be!” we think,

“A wondrous day filled to the brink

by Nature’s lovely care …

for, new days, My Friend, we’ll all share.”

LOL, you do me, better than I:/
If I were to say I am flattered by such a nice penning it wouldn't do justice to the surprise I felt upon reading this! Particularly when it comes from the Cafe's maestro of form poetry! Your word crafting discipline is second to non I know (and I read an awful lot of poetry LOL) I don't know if I ever told you this but I sold your book at my store it was sitting on the coffee table for years next to my poetry magazines and a young English student asked me if she could buy it. Well, I leave those books out for people waiting for a table and generally don't sell them but for her, I made an exception because I thought you would like that if I did. As for death and rebirth, they were both splendid and strangely similar I still haven't shared the poems I wrote on the subject here, but I will now that you have shared this write with me because some of the things you said in this poem are much about what I have expressed in them. All I can say is thank you for writing this old friend

You've a great sense-of-humor … NO ONE could top YOU, my friend; or, even come close.
I'm so thrilled this came as a surprise, and that your thoughts of me and my poetic skills are so elevated … a very nice surprise to me in itself.
This is the first I've heard of you selling my book, but paying it forward is what it's all about. I hope the young English student enjoyed and passed it along, as-well. That's a wonderful thought … I hope you charged her accordingly.

Well, you know me and my imagination; I could only envision a smidgen of what it must have been like to come 'n go a couple of times on your journey there and back. It's sooo nice to have you home, and I know we all agree.

Well, Susan,

Our good friend Robert "Bab Bunny" Trakofler has just newly returned to us from recuperation of deep heart surgery, where he experienced death and resuscitation a number of times.
Thank you ever-so warmly and gratefully for reading my humble effort at inspiring and expressing adequate gratitude for Dear Robert's successful survival and return.

Hoping your days and nights are filled with smiles and peace.
