all about You (a simple poem of love)

all about You (a simple poem of love)

~ all about You ~

~----------------------------------------------~**~---------------------------------------------~~

{to your glorious splendor}

Once upon a time,

my love for you was new …

I thought it was about

your incomparable poetic words,

your softly wavy mane,

the tender eternity

of your deeply urging eyes,

the way they sparkled,

when you smiled.

I was certain …

it was your heavenly beauty,

your irresistible sensuality,

and the way I envision you moving

like a gently bowing rose ~

dancing to light rhythms

of a Springtime breeze.

Then, our love

was finally consummated ~

when you professed your heart to me …

and I was certain it was about

the way you glowed,

how your spirit flowed inside

to touch my core.

Countless times

your ample breasts,

your warm, velvet thighs,

your satin soft lips fed my manly needs,

my hungry mouth and hands,

nurturing our love ~

assured me

this is it.

As time wore on,

I became convinced …

it was the bounty of your heart,

the ways you endured,

despite all life’s challenges,

even those presented to

shake your trust.

Still, you endured;

that, in spite of it all …

how you never shunned me.

Then, I was certain it was

your incessant resolve

and wise insight.

Through our years

of sharing things Us …

endless moments reading you,

learning your quaint, charming ways,

your tireless dedications,

nursing hearts,

tending unto your job,

 friends, and your many fans,

affectionate and loyal through it all,

setting your dreams aside.

Yes, I was positive all this

is what makes you

the treasure

you are.

Ah!

'Twas then,

just this morning

(after all these years),

still spooned warmly a’dream,

I woke, again gave blissful thanks,

wondering what your beautiful mind

is feeling, thinking about …

am I in there now

~ with you,

imagining, hoping

there are times

I am;

and, it dawned on me;

everything at last came together,

and I knew it never was, never will be

as simple as all that …

because,

you’ve never been about love,

love has always been

~ about You ~

this is so sweet, we often don't know what drew us to a person to begin with... was it their physical beauty? Was it their kindess? Their passionate heart? Or was it a combination of everything that made them truly one of a kind? I'm sure this person you are talking about in your poem is a very lucky lady, very unique as well! My favourite line is the last lines of your poem
" you’ve never been about love,
love has always been
~ about You~" , Love has always been a out that special person, they define love and what it means to love and be loved. A warm beautiful last line to end a Lovely poem! Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed the read!

Dearest Richard,
You call this incredibly beautiful poem of yours "A simple poem of love".... but there is really nothing simple about it...From the artwork, to the poem, to the diamond shaped lines, this is such a lovely poem..one that brings tears to my eyes..
This so sounds like a long life with one special person...from the very beginning, with the immense shared feelings of love, to later as that love changes into a different love..an even better love...
Being in love with someone is like being with a steady hand that is always there for you..
Love all of your poem... the ending is spot on..

This is hardly too long, Richard. If anything it may be too short. Your person is lucky to have someone who loves so intensely, and who understands that love so deeply.
I love the flow of this piece. The diamond-shaped stanzas are hypnotic, and are only made more so because of what they say. This is a beautiful declaration of love.

Richard, it is early morning and I am sitting here reading this “ simple” ( not) poem of yours! I don’t know where to begin! Ahh Free Verse! I’m so intimidated by this form. I love my poetic rules ( yes Richard, I know there are “rules” in free verse too. Lol I still have that tiny Richard voice in my head telling me so) Anyway, I read this and I am completely amazed. You have taken your God- given gift and so beautifully mastered it. More so, you have willing shared and instructed so many students! I know your Aunt is smiling somewhere… I have to write a Free Verse! 😀Ok, this poem… I’m not sure I have enough words and how does one describe such a profound confession of love. Reading this, that is exactly what you have done. Once upon a time love was new. With that, a love story unfolds. You write the words felt by so many fortunate enough to find this kind of love. “ love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. Never. Your words speak life and truth. There is nothing greater than love. To know it, receive it and willing love another more than self. This is a perfect love. How wonderfully you expressed this! I know your poetry Richard. I have studied it for years. Each poem has its own special ways. But this! I mean, Richard! This comes from somewhere deep down inside your soul. You have given us a glimpse of Richard. These words just don’t appear. Every words has been felt, pondered and lovingly arranged in “ All about You”. Free Verse! I have to get to know you better! … ( your art choice is always so fitting) Well, here I am reading again… it’s as I don’t want this one to end! Thank you for sharing this with all of us here! ( I don’t know what this rating thing is here, but I’m giving you 100 here. I am so completely blown away)

Ah, Richard, this is perfectly you and your adoring inspirational poetic words, showing us the love, trust, kindness of this sensual woman, who gave you all you wanted.... until you awoke one day and realized it all for herself, not for you, a real twist at the end... but I knew something nasty was going to happen, despite your excellent choice of words to this very romantic piece. well done dear Richard.

Ok! all was ok until those last three lines... I don't know what exactly did You do to us "your readers" but believe me You've reached something deep inside, touch and overwhelm it, have the control and power over it that only few tears can express it. That's why YOU are a MASTER as I've said countless of times, it's not all about your Master Talent, but your Master natural gift of diving, understanding, feeling and expressing not only the humans' feelings but also the spirits' feelings. a golden sparkling gem.

Wow! I didn't expect that ending at all. They say men fall in love faster and harder than women do. 'Some' women are only there for what a man can do for them financially, and what they can get from them. Sad but true.
