Ryukyu (roo-cue) Minivet, a beautiful songbird native to Japan.
Its song is a number of soft chirps, followed by a bright tinkling twitter.
Its feathers are from dark blue-gray to black and pure white.
Their activities foretell of an early or late winter.
Constructively intended critique is always welcome! ✍

Thank you for the knowledge and the amazing poetry Richard. The Native Americans watched the birds. when the bird were hidden and silence. They knew. Big storm was coming. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome Richard. I always enjoy your work.
Winter superbly captured in both word and depiction in this wonderful Haiku which is complemented by an excellent choice of graphic. Thank you also for the information on the beautiful songbird native to Japan, it saved me having to look it up. Very impressive Haiku, Richard. Thank you for sharing...

It appears Photobucket has stolen my poem, but not the joy received from your lovely presence in sweet review.
Very nice Richard. Haiku reminds me of imagist poets like Ezra Pound. One thing for me I have found the fewer the words the more difficult the poem to write. I have finally finished a ten-line poem that I have rewritten easily 100 times trying to force it into a syllabic pattern of 3/2 per stanza. It only succeeded when I expanded the lines to 5 syllables, which contracted the total number of lines but allowed addition of necessary lines.
Anyway, I salute your ability with condensed thought. Tomodachi.

It's a distinct blessing to receive your words in review to this humble little Haiku.
I would agree with you on the challenge of composing in few words, as you can tell from most of my other poems, my pen's naturally a bit longwinded.
3/2 … my-my, that is a challenge, indeed; I not so sure I could accomplish it, either.
I really like the complete presentation you created for this piece. The art, your poem and your chop together are elegant, and feel authentic to the form and culture. I hope this hangs on your wall. If not, it should. I would hang it!

It does not hang on my wall, but you are more then welcome to print and hang it on yours, if you'd like … I'd be honored.
With a grateful bow of respect and regard! ⁓ Richard🖌

To format a write like this: Choose the artwork you like, place it in a drawing application, add the words from your heart, save it as a .jpg, and upload to the Café … that's all there is to it. : )
