A Winter's Gift

Bone-freezing wind blows, and pure virgin snow’s
sent swirling to soft, lazy drifts.
Tall, stark-naked trees in crystal glaze freeze
in quiet twilight ~ Winter’s gifts.

All sprinkled around, diamond sparks are found …
frosted wonders dance a-gleaming.
'Beneath covers warm, sheltered from the storm,
in his warm bed he lays dreaming.

There, upon his face, saffron moonbeams trace

the rapt’rous smile he is wearing.
He’s dreaming her love … sequined stars above
sear hot, like Northern Lights flaring.

In sweet heated glow, silver rivers flow,

souls wedded ’neath satin covers.
By clear morning light, sun’s warmth shining bright,
melts away ~ nighttime dream lovers.

Winter is the season to stimulate the senses, the depths, the even forgotten feelings and/or lost memories, bringing it all to overflow with overwhelmed sensations, like here and now, the amount of warmth is grand, this same amount of yearning and even sadness at the end, I too many times didn't want to witness the sunrise, didn't want to feel the sun or its warmth, just wanted to be buried back into the night's world. this to be written by one of Your original forms adds more specialty to it, gorgeous piece, stirring up our emotions in the exact perfect way, that deeply moving way.
