"S A M S A R A" A Sanskrit word that means the cycle of death and rebirth,
for all things to which life in the material world is bound,
and the fundamental belief of most Indian religions.
Only six reviews is a crime. Life goes on beyond us as it did for our ancestors. On the next block over from me, there's a cemetery. Each time I walk past I think of what they did in their lives. And life is awful short too.
Great writing, Richard.

A true artist must learn to be graciously and humbly grateful for every appreciative eye cast his way.
Still, I think it sucks to have 91 Views and only 9 Reviews, It's enough to give a hopeful bard an incurable complex … LOL!
I agree, Tim, that life (as we know it) is short.

looking through your poem index aiming to find one that was different from your usual poems about love i came across this one, which beautifully written & sophisticated.
i loved the line "Riding life's turning wheel". i feel some people seem to have square wheels & often get stuck on the flat side without progression.
keep well richard

Yes, the circle of life is what we are all subject to. I had to think of "all the world's a stage" as I read your words. Yes, we are actors, but in many ways we write our own scripts. Samsara believes we all are reincarnated and the new actors are not really new at all, just recycled. Not sure I believe that. Beautiful presentation here, Richard. Lydi**

Yet, how can we, as living beings, KNOW with certainty, what lies ahead in the eternal beyond, while riding the Great Mandala of Life.

We'll all be gone, true; but none of those who come after would exist without all those who came before. They set the stage upon which they shall rise or fall. Life is so full of things to ponder, mainly life itself. :-)

Ah, a subliminal stimulus … there's no doubt, your poetry has left many lasting effects on more than bard. : )
I, too, have written numerous poems with "The Great Wheel of Life", the "Mandala", etc; in it; as-well, fate, kismet, destiny, karma, etc; but, I am sure you're right about my borrowing it from You this time … thanks, always, for your bright inspirations. 🌸

Can they ever replace the dept of the 'old' actors? I very much doubt it!!!

Sad but true! The evanescence of life, the natural way of the world I suppose.

And, I must agree with you: Viewed from a typical human perspective, it is sad, indeed, when each of us flow from this existence to the next (wherever/whatever that may be), leaving those who loved and cared about us behind … yet, in the ultimate scheme of being, we each are travelers/drifters/mere transpirations of all that is; though, ever a constant presence, a total unity of the Great All ⁓ we're simply, passing through this worldly dimension as minūte sparks of energy.
You got me thinking, obviously. : )
Bless you Laura ⁓ Richard 🍃
