                       Love’s Ambling Seasons ~

               ~-🍁🍃🍁🍂🍁🌿🍁-~**~-🍁🍃🍁🍂🍁🌿🍁🍃🍁🍂🍁🌿🍁🍃🍁🌿🍁🍃🍁-~

                        Through Autumn's glory, life we strolled,

                        soft wind-chimes knew our song ...

                        sweet poems, writ 'pon leaves of gold;

                       'twas naught e'er could go wrong.

                        Each falling leaf a melody

                        that played upon two hearts ...

                        each glazing frost wrought destiny,

                        as love slowly departs.

                        When frozen limbs of Winter crack,

                        these arms ache empty, too;

                        I close sad eyes ... then, all drifts back

                        to days when dreams were true.

                        We sensed the paling of desire,

                        a waning of each thrill ...

                        with barely kindled sparks of fire

                        to weather Winter's chill.

                        Sweet Spring swept-in on verdant wing,

                        brought laughter in the rain ...

                        then, Summer's bliss began to sing

                        to Fall's poignant refrain.

                        Time was, when Summer held two hearts

                        within their youthful sway ...

                        each mem'ry dances, then departs;

                        too swiftly drifts away.

                        Tho' our love's seasons ambled by,

                        to passion's thrums un-stilled …

                        in moments, two hearts soared on high;

                        yet, ne'er alas ~ fulfilled.

with barely kindled sparks of fire
to weather Winter's chill.

Barely kindled sparks of fire... Barely kindled... mow that's a desire in itself, hoping to ignite flames that once burned, now burning like passion.

To weather winter's chill... Gotta keep those home fires burnin' when love or the night which ever needs attention... When two hearts are concerned... Love burns bright

Awesome writing here... Richard 😁😉😉

That most important of connections, love; is so poetically entwined with the seasons in this lovely poem.

I observe my parents, still together after 54 years and know that Love's autumn in particular, is a simply beautiful place to be.

you sway through the seasons ...one flows into the other, but the two hearts seem to prefer the summer; when winter comes upon you, the sparks lose their thrill; This is like a gentle wave of love and romance through the seasons; but it seems at the end, soaring into the sky, but never completely fulfilled . Lovely Richard my friend! Fondly, Betty

You do a powerful job painting each season as the way love often goes. Having grown up at a recreational lake where people flooded in by summer, but disappeared by winter, the seasons very much defined my social life in the boondocks. Hot summer romances followed by brittle winter introspection. Well-balanced analogy of the seasons to the seasons of romance (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
