"Senryu (non-traditional)" by virtue that this piece was composed according to the the rules of a contest a number of years back: "Write a Senryu or Haiku in full grammar, complete with rhymes, capitalization, and punctuation." BTW: It took 2nd Place.🎖

A very appealing Senryu, though not composed as traditional Senryu, is equally charming. You have captured the warmth of someone so special superbly in just fourteen words, Richard. Am thrilled that this gem took 2nd Place, but it really should have been chosen in 1st Place, it is so beautiful and the words are complemented by a photo as stunning as the one you have so expertly painted. Thank you for sharing, Richard. So enjoyed reading your delightful poems today. Will be back again...

Lovely and sweet. Although my Japanese master cautions us to try and not rhyme which is big in English poetry but not a big element in Japanese. As to the why, I have no clue. Perhaps the repetition aspect of it detracts from the punch of brevity, encapsulating vast ideas and though in as few words as possible or prescribed in Japanese literature's syllabication. Doesn't really bother me but I kinda get the point.

Hello. Richard! :)
This is a sweet one. There's a Haiku/Senryu contest going on here now, if you're interested.

A perfectly worded Romantic piece by the Master himself. Thanks for sharing your words Richard . Just be careful of the flowers that smell sweet but have hidden thorns. 🌹

Changes things slightly. Love this and looking at the pictures I see, like myself, you appreciate woman in many forms lol! A nice rhyming senyru.

Beautiful senryu Richard. Soft as silky sighs, how lovely is that? Certainly full of love and adoration. All good wishes

A 'smile' can wipe away sadness and pain. (Dimples help but are not essential - but nice). Thank you for yet again another uplifting piece.
