English [Shakespearean] Sonnet

Each night, for only You

Each night, for only You my passions rise,

'midst such enthralling dreams born from delight.

Light softly shimmers from bewitching eyes,

whose melting glances thrilled me at first sight.

With night's dark shadows dancing all around,

there, on your gentle cheeks, a rose-like glow.

While in my mind such wondrous colors found,

when first warmth’s treasures had begun to flow.

With hungry eyes, into these dreams I gaze;

your essence rides upon my eager wing …

warm, firm, the bud’s hot pleasure’s set ablaze;

then, opens forth to drink of thy sweet spring.

Look to your dreams at night … you, too, may see

this lover wild ~ that you have made of me.

so fulfilling this poem of that perfect mix of emotions, desire, delight and magick ..i honestly have no desire to check the meter and rhyme against the form...honestly it is too delightful in reading to spoil it ;) i imagined me self in Shakespearean style reciting your excellent poem to the audience ..great pic too ... i think you do the Bard honor my friend .. such a fine read .. i feel and now am thinking elevated :))))))))

What a fine compliment it is that you have no desire to check my meter and rhyme, because, knowing you, if there were a hint of a stumble I'd be hearing about it … LOL!
We both know that following the required spot-on meter and rhyme scheme are part of the intricate aspects of sonneteering that makes this form such a wonderfully eloquent and powerful read, eh?
I am so delighted you find favor in picture, too, and your praise makes my humble efforts feel all the more worthwhile.

I can, almost, hear your sonorous voice reciting this piece to the audience in your finest, most elevated Shakespearean spirit!
