When I was but a callow lad, filled with lofty dreams … naïve ideals;
the world turned a different speed, somehow.
Then, the stars and trees caught my attention,
the way your loving eyes haunt my soul,
the splendor that is your skirt …
emphasizing the graceful zenith of your hips.
Even little clovers speak your name
when they turn their faces and smile each morn, as leaves whisper softly your I love you's,
and the wind speaks sultry secrets in my ear.
Sun, rain, tiny birds, the horny-toads
smile whenever you dance into my wonder; the window to my soul gapes wide,
to accompany sweet pleasures that you bring.
Now, the man in me only hears what my little boy could never understand.
Hah! Still, even this man of worldly-insight cannot fathom what only the vivid consciousness
of all the universe sees floating … in your spirit's milk.
It is then I knew, I want to be inside you forever,
I want to to die in your arms …
and, until that moment astride my manhood, knowing ... life has spent all it can allow on me.
There is but one goal, one final destination all that I am;
and, it is in this ethereally spatial wonder that I finally must bow down to:
All that life's splendor has taught me, all I shall finally glimpse for after an eternity … it is enough to finally embrace the understanding, "That all I ever wanted or ever could,
is … to be your man."

I hoped you would find and enjoy this particular Free Verse piece, because I think it embodies much of the kind of warmth and beautiful creativity your own pen creates and blesses us with, time and again … not with your special touches of softness and sweet feminine allure, of course, but in like spirit and tender emotion I know we both feel and embrace so naturally and warmly.
Bless you your always kind praise and expressed appreciation for for an olde bard's humble and hopeful efforts … it's for your reviews I so love to write and share.
Hugs! ⁓ Richard🍃
This may be freestyle, but its still cascades like like a waterfall, misting and frothing, forming glorious pools around that swimming hole where rapture waits. You voice is always even and tempts one to continue reading and the first stanza is like the beginning of an essay, a thesis statement, and the supporting lines magnanimously support. I have been in these shoes a couple times, and it is just as you say. I wouldn't change a thing.

Your metaphorically vibrant and inspiring thoughts expressed in homage to this rather romantically blessed little piece are a masterful poem in themselves.
Your expressed appreciation and understanding in how you relate, assure me we've touched in a truly deep and meaning way poets sharing and enjoying each others efforts should.
I am both honored and blessed by your choosing this work (one of my faves, BTW) to read and review.

It is so very lovely to find you've been here reading and enjoying one of my rather sweeter romantic pieces.
The warmth, understanding, and appreciation expressed in your voice assure me we've connected very nicely, indeed, and what could be more pleasing and reassuring to a bard's hopes to please his readers than this … I don't know, because can think of nothing else. : )
I will be by to share your "Llamas" poem … thank you ever-so warmly, Dear Zaynab ⁓ Richard 🍃
Free verse as indeed it should be... silk smooth from one end to t'other.. and there are, in my very humble opinion, several magnificent lines indeed.. Neville
