A Poem by Richard🖌

~ the essence that is Us …

-----------~**~---------------------------------------------------

I love You

more with every breath I take,

feel your pulsing

with each heartbeat

of my own …

no greater love

was ever known,

nor sweeter seeds of love

yet sown.

Ask not

how it is possible,

but …

give grateful thanks

for knowing what

is meant to be

 at last

came true for You and Me.

In the moment ...

God touched us one to one ~**~

mind to mind - heart to heart,

soul to soul - body to body,

We knew,

and our universe spun

to our own tune.

The stars

all came aligned,

as soft winds began to gently blow

across the sea,

o’er mountain crests,

through verdant grass and dancing trees,

carrier of ~

our warm embraces, sweet sensual dreams,

oh, such ardent, sating screams,

touched to fire, freed desire

like nothing else before.

Inside that breeze

on bended knees

we embraced;

ever since

a world came into view …

within our own.

We could not

let go as …

a joy like ne’er known

took hold.

Like children

in first love

we embraced;

yet, could not get our fill …

the kind

meant for new lovers

swam our veins,

engulfed me

into your heat,

our throbbing beat

soared o’er me and through

every fiber filled with You,

on unto this day.

Hungered and dreamt,

where

there exist no bounds

we cannot,

will not explore,

nor words we will not say …

We’ve said them all;

yet, ever more remain

that strive and yearn …

aye, ache in equal burn

~ the essence that is Us …

Author's Note

One pulled from the Archives:
Yeah, I know, it's older and sappy, simple and basically worded … probably, too long, but thought some of you romantics might enjoy a look at it.

Honest, open, well-meant critique is preferred. : )

You say is simple....the simplicity is what got me reading until the end without even feeling how long...actually, I looked for the next line. Yet, it is not so simple ;-) The naturally spoken words from the heart in the most beautiful language of love, tender, sweet and romantic, touch me.
"Likes children
in first love
we embraced;
yet, could not get our fill …"
Most wonderful dear Richard. I felt like in the 1800s....and I cant explain why. :-)

Richard this is a very beautiful heartfelt ode (perhaps not an actual ode but in my mind it is) to one that is adored, so much that the essence of her is what you are enraptured with at the very soul of this person - I think that speaks of a very deep and meaningful love - one that so many long for but don’t always find...I felt like I climbed a couple mountains reading this one - maybe long but very well received :) and quite frankly I wanted more!

It is not too long at all; on the other hand it paints a true picture of love that was meant to be; I love the way you describe the stars and the dancing trees; and still there are more words to speak; very sensual and vivid!

Richard your a true gentleman.
Not at all 'Soppy' but truely sentimental showing the world how love should be and what it means to be engulfed in its splendour! Beautifully carried accross to minds and hearts that twin. A glorious piece appreciated by all romantics. Thank you for sharing these sentiments, dear 'Sir"

A truly lovely Free Verse. Wonderfully expressed and easy flowing. I like the use of occasional ryhmes. Not too long at all... some thoughts need just a little more time to be complete. In my opinion...this could just keep on going...

No greater love than you lay down your words. And what powerful, delightful words they are too. And wanting more at the end. I enjoyed this poem.
