One pulled from the Archives:
Yeah, I know, it's older and sappy, simple and basically worded … probably, too long, but thought some of you romantics might enjoy a look at it.
Honest, open, well-meant critique is preferred. : )

You say is simple....the simplicity is what got me reading until the end without even feeling how long...actually, I looked for the next line. Yet, it is not so simple ;-) The naturally spoken words from the heart in the most beautiful language of love, tender, sweet and romantic, touch me.
"Likes children
in first love
we embraced;
yet, could not get our fill …"
Most wonderful dear Richard. I felt like in the 1800s....and I cant explain why. :-)

How very sweet and endearing your lovely words touch and gratify a bard's wishes to write for other's enjoyment and pleasure … I'm left all a'blush. ; )
Of all, I thought You might well appreciate and be touched by the gently warming romance and emotion of this lengthy, simple piece … and, how wonderfully rewarding it is to know how right I was.
The verse you highlighted is one of my favorites, too … surprise-surprise!
"1800s", eh? I've had others mention how antiquated and olde-fashioned my poetry is, and since you think so, I guess it's true.
A beautiful review, Sil … I am so very happy you read this one and found such sweet favor in it … hugs to You! ⁓ Richard ; )
Richard this is a very beautiful heartfelt ode (perhaps not an actual ode but in my mind it is) to one that is adored, so much that the essence of her is what you are enraptured with at the very soul of this person - I think that speaks of a very deep and meaningful love - one that so many long for but don’t always find...I felt like I climbed a couple mountains reading this one - maybe long but very well received :) and quite frankly I wanted more!

'Tis cool and brisk, a north breeze plays through morning's open window; yet, here in the tender touch of your words, I find the warm embrace of comforting assurance I'm not alone about what deep romance means and feels like.
What more could a hopeful bard wish for than to connect with another through the simple expressions of his poetry, who surely knows what love is about.
An ode(?), perhaps not, but if it's a "heartfelt beautiful ode" to Thee, that's what it is to Me.
With my warmest, most grateful hug of thanks, Lovely Lady-Poet! ⁓ Richard 🍃
It is not too long at all; on the other hand it paints a true picture of love that was meant to be; I love the way you describe the stars and the dancing trees; and still there are more words to speak; very sensual and vivid!

Once again, the deep and gentle understandings of your words flow through me as smoothly and warmly as silk in a sunny Springtime breeze.
That you love anything about my writing lays as a caress given softly and sweetly across an olde bard's heart.
Bless you, Dear Poetess, with a wondrously warm hug of joyful thanks! ⁓ Richard 🍃
What lovely romantic words Richard, beautiful, real words of love. I hope you really did express such words to your lady love, and that it isn’t just a poem, lovely as it is.

Your encouraging words of praise and expressed appreciation for this rather tenderly romantic Free Style piece, more than amply reward my earnest efforts to compose for and please my lady and fellow writers.
This poem, as most of mine, are meant for everyone's interest and enjoyment … I really currently have no one who considers me all that special.
Blessings, Dear Lady-Poet … "Happy Christmas and A Marvelous 2020!" ⁓ Richard 🍃
Aw Richard, this is stunning words of love, heartfelt romance and passion with beauty flowing so freely inside. A heart fluttering poem of amazing gentleness, kindness, compassion and undying love.

How wonderfully inspiring and encouraging your lovely words of expressed appreciation and praise for this rather extended homage, to the gentler side of romance, caresses a hopeful bard's desires to share and please his lady and fellow poets.
May the stars and moon shine down upon your sweet countenance with joyful acclaim … thank you most warmly, Lovely Poetess! ⁓ Richard ; )
Not at all 'Soppy' but truely sentimental showing the world how love should be and what it means to be engulfed in its splendour! Beautifully carried accross to minds and hearts that twin. A glorious piece appreciated by all romantics. Thank you for sharing these sentiments, dear 'Sir"

Sweet thoughts of days once spent wondering where they went... goes with one to all corners of this earth brought on by the softest touch of summer breeze. Thank you for being spot on with my take on this piece. Wishing you the best for your week ahead. Continue to be inspired.
A truly lovely Free Verse. Wonderfully expressed and easy flowing. I like the use of occasional ryhmes. Not too long at all... some thoughts need just a little more time to be complete. In my opinion...this could just keep on going...
