Eden's Haven... (romance delusion)

Ballad in 8/6/8/6 meter and abcb, defe, etc; rhymes.

             

 Eden's Haven...

    There is a place I long to be,

    to sit and dream awhile ...

    where gently calls to me your voice

    from many a far mile.

    A place where spark'ling di'mond glints

    play on dancing ripples,

    relenting to soft moonlit night's

    undulating dimples.

   'Tis peaceful there without a care,

    a haven wrought by fate ...

    and everywhere a song of life

    to fill us and elate.

    Oh, grip us tight, Eternity,

    embrace with no more stress;

    an Eden built by dreams for two ...

    but mine -- I must confess.

hold fast that fantasy says i! and why not?! ;) smooth ballad sir! i like the "a" gone from diamond ... helped me keep the meter ... love the thoughts ..the music of love and romance tho far away and a dream .. is a comfort to read for me tonight :)

Yes (the "a" gone from diamond), don't you just marvel at the amazing creation of elision? It's inception is traced back to early Latin (75BC). Poetic meter (structured or free composition) commonly avails itself of its useful craft, as I know you're well aware.
True again, Dear Friend, love cedes neither to time and circumstance, nor distance.

What is the special about Your poetry… aside of the "not questionable" truth, that You are a master not only a master poet but a master artist, who don't only write, but do create, and writing/creation are two different things, aside of the fact that any form You write with, You write it more than perfectly and splendidly, aside of the many other facts that's not possible to address them all here, there are two things come to my mind each time I read You, that Your flow always breathtaking,heart-taking… no matter what the form is, the subject or the simplicity or complexity of the words, they ALWAYS flow so very smoothly, like the sparkling water's river, or the gentlest breeze, they always flow with an enchanting charm, easily from a heart, and easily flow to ours… the second thing, that Your writes always, and I say again always, reflect the very unique being You are, the REAL being "You" that's is like Pure Crystal. a beauty, a real essence of beauty, where there is nothing but the goodness of feelings… the care, the gratitude, the love, the tenderness, the profoundness, the thoughtfulness, the strength, the the the… well You know Yourself better than I can write, those whom are like You, who act, whose attitudes like You, let me humbly say that they resemble "perfection", because they way they live, it's the way suppose to be lived like.

in the flow of Your Poetry, it's always there, this perfect pure crystal sensation, that always leave us overwhelmed with satisfaction.

If there is anyone that enjoys, appreciates, and reveres my poetry more than you do, I don't know who it is. And, I must admit the generosity and kindness in your words encourage and inspire my battered olde pen to perk-up and look for some new ink.
Then, I keep looking around to see who you're talking to with all the accolades, and realize it's ME … LOL!
Sincerely, I love it, M'Lady, like crazy, lapping it all up like a hungry puppy, but now I'll be on my way to the store for a huge bottle of slimming shampoo to make my hat fit again. 😃
