Last
night I dreamt ~ We
strolled.... arm in arm down lovely paths running through a
beautiful forest, morning's sunshine warm upon us. And,
each step taken.... bright, lilting birdsong echoed amongst soaring trees, squirrels everywhere at gleeful play. We
were happy.... at peace, and the world was a soft, loving
place. In
every step.... we took together, I could smell your
womanly essence, as it blended, with earthy forest
aroma. Wildflowers'
faces.... all in splendor, turned... as
we strolled by. And,
we stopped.... just to watch sunglow on the leaves, in
treetop splendor. Your
back.... against my chest, my arms embraced around you, your
head nestled upon my shoulder... we looked upon God's
wonder. And,
I turned.... my head so slightly, kissed your cheek
softly, and whispered, "You
are the loveliest of all God's creations. We finally made it,
didn't we?" You
gently sighed.... squeezed my arms, and whispered, "Oh,
Darling, I would not trade the world for this moment!" And,
I awoke.... with a gently falling tear.
Beautiful poetry Richard. Strange that dreams can sometimes provide what our daily existence can't. Wonderful imagery and tender thoughts. What a pity to have to face the reality after such bliss.
Thank you for these lovely words and the superb image you have posted.

The day outside is overcast, oppressing heat, not the single hint of a breeze … but inside, enjoying your sweet words of praise, understanding, and relatability, exists a softly pleasant glow radiating to an olde bard's core.
Ya know, M'Dear? For as wondrous as life may be for the most gratified amongst us, dreams, hopeful thoughts, and imaginings are where it all began, what was looked forward to before they had it all, that which compelled them.
Besides, who has a choice in what they dream … I know mine come of their own volition.
Hah! Listen to me going-on … you always inspire me!
Thank you ever-so warmly and gratefully, Lovely Lady-Poet! ⁓ Richard : )

I makes me happy to know you've grasped the essence of this rather poignant piece.
The last stanza expresses the truth which usually happens most of the time. All good scenes happen in dreams sometimes. I admire your wit and writing style, whenever I feel the need to get inspired to write, I read your poetry.

No greater compliment could be paid one poet from another than that which you've paid me.
Knowing my poetry inspires you reveals how wonderfully we've connected, and what humble bard could ask for anything more rewarding than this?

This is the kind of poems that "hits" me deep! if You look and read it, there is nothing new with words (no offense is taking, I mean it good ), BUT the feeling... oh! that gentle peaceful feeling, that beautiful ease, that heavenly repose... that precious treasured soft tear finding the way from the core into the eye, You tenderly caress it inside each one of us, and I can feel it all slowly sweeping like gentle rain into my senses, I can, smell, imagine, see, feel... how deeply special is this wondrous poem... a gentle grace it is, a blissful dream turning into a blessing reality!

How could I ever take offense with You? Besides, I understand perfectly what you mean by everyday words, and how their use can still as vibrant to the mind, heart, and emotion as many other, far more sophisticated.
And, that which makes it so enthralling to a simple bard, like me, is how they can be skillfully arranged in a manner that expresses and conveys that which lives and breathes in my own mind, heart, and emotion to others, in such ways they can actually feel me through them, and what they're feeling awakens something deep and meaningful in them, like this poem has within You.
Thank you so very warmly and appreciatively for sharing your beautiful review, M'Lady … my warmest hugs to thee* ⁓ Richard : )
