Using it DOES lead to serious consideration of the power of various languages and how they in turn interact within the limits of their country's poetic forms.

I, too, find the Japanese forms interesting to contemplate how the sounds and meanings would fit in its native language, as the rules are in a Western mode of writing, rather than the tonal sounds of this form in Japanese, and I often wonder how my unrefined smatterings might sound to them.
This is very pretty Richard. I did a little review of a Japanese Sedoka... very nice imagery. My favorite line..would be the last one. Rounds this little poem up quite well!
