Hm, it's pretty, but is there something missing; is it too simple?
Well, it's early morning and I just had the first hot sip of lapsang … I'll check it again later.
Constructive comments and critique are always welcome … any help is appreciated! : )

Must admit, and truth must be said... when You write in Free Verses there is something rare inside You that comes alive to the surface, so vibrant, sheer glamour, beauty that is written, read and felt only in heavenly essence, so glad this appeared on the right list of my page reminding me with such a sublime, outstanding, glorious masterpiece... sigh! something I wish I've composed!

It's beyond my ability to adequately thank you for the way you enjoy my Free Verse pieces … yet, even my metered efforts have drawn like praise from your lovely voice.
You said, "Something I wish I've composed!" Hah! If mine were compared anywhere close to the level of sheer spiritual, living gloriousness of your poetry, I could only hope they'd be blessed with a casual glance.

This is a beautiful piece, I expect no less from you, but I'm having difficulty relating. I cannot remember ever being lonely, or pining for a lost love, maybe because I was always the first to say - "Hey! I'm not happy, you're not happy, let's not make painful memories. Let us leave with love still in our hearts, and be glad of our time together." With the exception of my second husband (the one who lost his damn mind and thought it was a good idea to hurt me!), all of my loves have sweet spots in my heart and all taught me a little more about how to love. That said, I do understand that this is not the case for many, many people and pain is the predominant emotion when memories crowd the mind, and I am sorry for them, heartache physically hurts and I imagine that loneliness has its own special ache. You write so beautifully that even one who cannot or does not recognize the emotions you take such care to accurately yet poetically express can taste the flavor of it, the essence of it.

'Tis such a beautiful compliment your words of praise have gifted this simple poem to "loneliness for one's past lover", and the tender sweetness derived from renewed remembrance replacing it with the warming moments wrought, thereof.
Well, of course, though we know this poem does not apply to you, it is so very rewarding to know it offers interest and appreciation enough to inspire such welcome commentary of your own interesting involvements and circumstances, so entertaining in their own right.
Too, it is encouraging to realize that one does not necessarily have to experience a thing to feel it, taste it, intuitively grasp its essence in a meaningful way … this, within itself, speaks volumes of the special being You truly are.
I am so very honored and pleased you chose this piece to share with me, Dear Carol … with warmest hugs! ⁓ Richard : )
Lay off the lapsang..Ha...just kidding... :)...
Beautiful.. soft.. and real...
I do wonder if any man truly
ever felt this way about his woman
or even ever watched her breathe ?
maybe, .... and how special THAT
would be...............sigh.

I love to see your name as reviewer beneath my poems, because I know I'm always in for a special treat.
How sweet to open with mention my favorite tea, setting a soft and familiar tone to your words.
I cannot speak for other men, but it is for certain my inspiration for this alluring poem is fact based, while so many are derived from sheer imagination; so, your "sigh" is well expressed on the essence of this piece. ; )
Thank you, Dear Lady-Poet, for the warming touch of your sweet words … hugs to you! ⁓ Richard 🌻
Nothing is missing for me, simply a magical ethereal piece of real emotions that sweep through the reader's heart and drift them with Your wave of glorious changing of feelings, like a drak silence being raised slowly with a gentle twinkling light, how You took us with Your private journey, from Your gloomy emptiness, when Your heart like a hole, thinking that You are now empty forever, even the loving scenes around You don't affect You, or touch You... then a little thing, a shy sign... caresses indepth those hidden feelings, litting the candle inside, and those bittersweet memories, this miraculous memory becoming warmly alive again inside You, taking You back, where the warmth of/inside You was like a fountain, a need to give as to take, Stunning magnificent piece, of real feelings.... The ending verse alone is a real masterpiece!

Dear GH,
I am so glad to know you reviewed this one for me … the site never said a word.
How beautiful of you to assure me all is okay with this warmly romantic little piece of introspection in the release of some uncharacteristically genuinely deep thought and emotion to the page.
Seldom, my actual feelings find their way past my pen, but I guess the moment was right to cleanse some past years' store of pent passions.
I love the ways you understand and see true core meanings of my poetry … so few really do.
Thank you so*
Warmest hugs and blessing to you, M'Dear Poetess! ⁓ Richard : )

Yumna, it is quite wonderful to hear your poetic voice again, sharing your wise mind and knowing heart with me, and not surprisingly, you've singled-out the one part I feel epitomizes the essence of this piece.
The way you've expressed its effect on you confirms and gratifies that which i see in you, not only as an artist, but as a vibrant person of sensitive depth ... and how fortunate I feel to be privileged to receive your appreciation and praise, but most of all, for trust me enough to share your personal experience, which I happen to share in almost equal measure.
Welcome back, with a most warmly grateful thank you for selecting this humble little effort to read and bless, in the special way only you can … hugs to you, Yumna! ⁓ Richard

You're most welcome, Richard and thank you too for the warm welcome ☺
Dear Richard,
i'm back to read your poems and here's one new for me. It has a catching beginning: yes, there is a kind of comfort in being lonely. And watching others together tells so much more as it ever did before. Some gestures can get you because they had been familiar to you, too. I like these lines, they show emotions without being too sweet (if you know what i mean).
I stumbled over "pain tries to color moments, but is blocked ...", sounded false to me first but now i see it. Pain can color moments, makes them meaningful and big, so you can feel like a tragic hero in an old movie. But the resignation keeps even that pain away, like a pillow or a glassbell. Oh yes, i understand. And of course it's you, Richard, and you come back to the light, a little laughter like Prousts famous Madeleines brings back the memories. I love the image of the Southern star in a moon-lit cloudness night. Then you're with the sleeping softness (and we are with you) and it's a sensitive love that watches carefully, just like a mosquito on the wall could do.
I appreciate and admire your talent and hope you won't stop giving us your beautiful poetry.
All the best for you, my friend.
Annie
