An excellent sonnet Richard;lovely words, the thing it captures for me is the importance and preciousness of the present moment e.g "the last thing on my lips..." a precious moment in itself before one drifts into sleep taking the beloved with you-great writing

Oh ~ that one word beckoning one to Come and join together "In that Moment", is a wonderful dream many can and do relate to. This is a beautiful, tender heartfelt penned Sonnet ~ and the included artwork makes it an amazing piece of poetry.
Richard, your words easily draws the reader into that dreamlike moment with you ~ well done!

"that's why I get the warmest smile all through. : D"
Beautifully written, in a form I can but emulate.
The passion shown is sensually presented, in a dream like essence. Building is impeccable, while the romantic presence stays true to true romance.

Time, the thought and write of it, seems to pre-occupy so many people's thoughts at present. Whether it's our uncertainties and dulled hope, i don't know. perhaps we need Love to take the reins its powerful hands and make miracles.
However, when poetry like yours displays such a heart and concept.. one thinks how valuable the human mind appreciates that gift we all have yet sometimes waste.. let dormant. Your poem is both gentle-beautiful yet sensual-raw. Wonderful its meaning, wonderful its display.

I'm not smart or deep enough to hold the answers to such profound questions, but I must concur that it seems Love would warmly and sweetly fill those empty spaces yearning questions occupy.

How happy I am you selected it, because there are a myriad of lessons in cadence, rhyme, poetic expression, metaphor, and imagery to be enjoyed and taken away in the mind, heart, and soul … perhaps, to bless your own new poems.
Your praise and understanding are encouraging, indeed, and I, too, love those last two lines for the same reasons you do.
Hello, Richard! :)
This is a lovely sonnet. It seems you've found the trick to wake up in a good mood. Haha
Of all the lovely phrases here, "as though you'd laid your heartbeat in my hand" really grabbed me.

That is my most favorite line in this classically rokmantic piece … the spark that illuminates the rest.
Hmmmm...this is the second of your poems I've read, and I am left wondering just what to say. I love the feel of it...the sense of reading something written by one of the classic poets we all love and admire...and yet it is uniquely your own. You capture the promise of love...something I have a hard time doing. My work usually centers around the darker side of it...but that doesn't mean I don't believe there is something more. Your work definitely pays homage to the 'something more', and it brings a sigh and a smile. It's the 'happily ever after' at the end of a best-seller. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

You not only inspire me, your words breath wonderment into my core … big hugs of returned happiness to you! ⁓ Richard
