When, with love~ ~---~---~---~--~~---~---~--~--~**~---~---~--~~---~---~--~--~---~
There's ne'er a frown,
when new-plowed ground
births early crops a start.
Tools now laid down,
we're homeward bound
t'ward hearth with grateful heart.
Warming delight,
fireplace lit bright,
in prayer for grace we kneel;
keep us held tight
throughout each night,
give thanks for our fine meal.
Faces aglow
from all we'll sow:
Love holds no reproaches.
Now's time to show,
gift, and bestow...
gloaming fast approaches. Soon, will the night
from day take flight,
heads weary laid to rest.
It's then despite,
resist and fight,
with sleep, each one, we're blest. Comes quick the dawn,
a sleepy yawn...
fresh, new day for giving;
until we're gone,
thus life goes on...
when, with love ~ we're living.
I would be greatly honored if anyone tries this easy flowing and interesting original form. If you should, please, let me know so I can read and review it for you.

You certainly have me blushing, but it's a warm and enjoyable kind that a bard loves to feel in praise and appreciation of his earnest efforts … from such a lovely, accomplished poetess.

To receive such accolades from an accomplished poet as yourself is, indeed, praise and encouragement in the highest.
Your "good" compliment is gratification beyond expectation, and the "perhaps better than", I assume, is meant that I use my own ego to determine … LOL!
Thank you again, Gee … gratefully yours! ⁓ Richard : )

Beautiful!
‘Never a frown’ from the moment I started delving into this image-rich poem.
I’m an incurable romantic, and crazily look for elements of nature and emotions in every poem I read.
No wonder, each one of your lines here stoked my heart.
I felt that I was on a trip. The easy structure and simple diction did not let the voyager wander for a second away from the cozy world created herein.
I simply love the message of each stanza, each more positive and uplifting than the other.
However, for me, there’s always something intriguing about the approaching night in a poem. Perhaps that’s why the penultimate stanza is my favourite.
To conclude, there’s an analogy between this poem and ‘apple and cinnamon tea’ (something I’ll be consuming in barrels at the onset of winters! :-)
Hi Richard!
Thanks for suggesting this fine piece... an enjoyable read, flowing and inspiring!
Yes, I see I have used your 4/4/6/4/4/6 form!
Mine is slightly different in that each of my stanzas run
xxxaxxxaxxxxxb
xxxcxxxcxxxxxb
xxxdxxxdxxxxxb
xxxexxxexxxxxb
...
i.e., each LINE is 4/4/6, for a varying number of LINES in each stanza, and a single monorhyme ("b") ending each LINE in any given stanza...
Thank you for your 'tip', and for your interest!!!

Thank you ever-so warmly for a great review of this piece in homage to pastoral life, and for your inspiring, appreciated praise, as-well.
Yes, except in format presentation and your 4/4/7 4-line mono-rhymed verses, the count and flow is exact, and it is interesting we both came-up with it … I love things like this, rare gems of discovery that make poetry so exciting when discovered.
It makes me very happy we met, Terry, and thanks again for sharing! ⁓ Richard
