This, Our Love ~
~---------------------------------~**~---------------------------------~

When Earth, She spoke, 'twas then I knew
I'd ne'er be as before;
for, in Her voice a gentle tone,
"Come lie upon My shore!

Learn from the waves that lap My sand,
caressing deep the beach;
shhh! As you watch, so softly hear
life's primal mating breach ...

as brushing soft, hushed sighing sand,
passion in its motion,
relents, as rivers always do,
flowing to their ocean.

Unto the sky uplift your face,
see there life's wings in flight,
learn then what flying truly means,
come soar with me tonight.

We'll traverse 'cross vast oceans wide,
broach mountains high above,
and bed 'longside bright silver streams,
teach starlings how to love.

Then, when we're spent, the grass will wave,
with flowers dancing, too;
as willing breezes witnessed all
of lovers wedding true."

I listened well, the breath of me
She took into Her soul,
and when exhaled the seed of life,
it made us one and whole.

"O' wean me, Winter, to Spring's breast,
ere Summer's fields grow bold;

please, bless then, dear Earth, 'this, our love ~’
turn it to Autumn gold."

A beautiful, well chosen image that compliments the poem to perfection. A brilliantly crafted and beautiful celebration of life and the movement of nature and the seasons through existence.I loved the verse beginning "unto the sky..." with its invitation to "learn what life truly means" Great work

Magnificent! You've woven nature, sexuality, and spirituality into a single fabric-- and like all poems that actually work,, it takes one out of oneself for a moment: a bit of true magic.

Richard-
The scenes you paint in the minds' eye are truly breathtaking. You make it so easy to see and feel the love that you want to share. I think, perhaps, the love you need to share and so unselfishly.

The rhythm and rhyme of your words are flawless. The words dance on the page. The personification of Mother Nature is stunning. The imagery is rich. There is a romantic thread running through each stanza. Just a joy to read. Lydi**

I've came here from reading your poem "Behind closed eyes" and I'm glad that I did; it's another beautiful poem. The ease in which you write is as if you've been around as long as language itself and mastered all its forms. Continue to write and I'm confident your words will be read and loved.

Love and passion seems to be as prevalent as icing on the Christmas cake right now... maybe tis the Good will add Joy wished all the time, maybe it's because it's a retrospective time when people look back and forth and realise what they've lost.. and, more so, what they've found.

Your words are beautifully laid, Lake poets, eat your hearts out!
