This, Our Love ⁓ (through the seasons)

BALLAD, in 8/6/8/6 count, rhyme-scheme: abcb, defe, etc; in iambic meter.

This, Our Love ~
~---------------------------------~**~---------------------------------~

When Earth, She spoke, 'twas then I knew
I'd ne'er be as before;
for, in Her voice a gentle tone,
"Come lie upon My shore!

Learn from the waves that lap My sand,
caressing deep the beach;
shhh! As you watch, so softly hear
life's primal mating breach ...

as brushing soft, hushed sighing sand,
passion in its motion,
relents, as rivers always do,
flowing to their ocean.

Unto the sky uplift your face,
see there life's wings in flight,
learn then what flying truly means,
come soar with me tonight.

We'll traverse 'cross vast oceans wide,
broach mountains high above,
and bed 'longside bright silver streams,
teach starlings how to love.

Then, when we're spent, the grass will wave,
with flowers dancing, too;
as willing breezes witnessed all
of lovers wedding true."

I listened well, the breath of me
She took into Her soul,
and when exhaled the seed of life,
it made us one and whole.

"O' wean me, Winter, to Spring's breast,
ere Summer's fields grow bold;

please, bless then, dear Earth, 'this, our love ~’
turn it to Autumn gold."

Oh where to begin! Every word reflects off the other into a wondrously passionate, somewhat innocent and glorious expression of love! So I'll just start..." Come lie upon my shore"...I really like the start of this..I love the feel of sand through my fingers..it can be memorizing, satisfying...LOL this is probably why kids love to play in the sand! Ahhhh but "passion in motion"....yes! I can see it..those ripples in the waves, sigh. i want to fly!!!...into the night sky, over oceans deep...BUT OHHHH my favorite line?? teaching those starlings how to love!!! OMGoodness..The thoughts whirling in my mind!!! Dancing flowers and waving grasses..just oozes with happiness and joy! and know lets round this all up into a Autumn love shining brighter then the sun..pure Gold!...Never ever in a million years and with all the words floating in my head will I be able to draw out such brilliant comparisons, imagery that comes alive, words that catch your breath and feelings that leaves the reader begging for sleep...to simply drift off, dreaming of this love. I truly enjoyed reading this amazingly gorgeous Ballad.Thank you! :-)

As much as I appreciate and adore an in-depth review, I never before knew it was possible to fall in-love with one, but now I know it truly is.
"Where to begin?" indeed!
There is not a mood, nuance, expression, emotion, feeling, inference, metaphor, caress, passionate sensation, or otherwise, not a single thing I can discern that you missed or did not understand in the way it felt and was meant when I composed this rather, imaginative free-wheeling homage to Nature and human love.
Then, as though weaving yourself perfectly, completely, and most irresistibly into every detail of every word, line, and verse was not enough to touch my every fiber, you continue on with such effulgent praise, appreciation, and expression of awe and enjoyment any bard would give his inkwell to receive, I find it quite difficult to contain my breath, to still a fluttering heart, excited surges … and you, the amazingly accomplished poetess, actually "thanked" ME?

This is some well written poetry! The imagery was exceptional, especially in the lines:

teach starlings how to love

Those lines among others in this piece really stood out to me. You captured something very beautiful and visual through your words. The metaphors you used throughout the poem were absolutely wonderful as you captured me, the reader, and took me on a journey. I really loved the last four lines of this poem, the way that you weaved the metaphor of the changing seasons into your theme about love and concluded with the circular image of winter cycling through spring, summer, and autumn. To me this suggests something cyclical about your expression of love in this poem. Wonderfully written Richard!
