I think this is a really special piece Richard; it conveys your talent with words exceptionally well. The poem flows with such ease and finesse, making the expression of love that much sweeter and more beautiful. I've always believed that poetry done right can conjure up images and emotions unrivaled by any other means (except possibly some paintings and breathtaking views) and this poem is a perfect example to prove this belief... well done, Richard, on this eloquent piece.

and what did that little bird tell you? I can almost hear that little birds chip!..this is such a sweet piece! well, more than sweet...I can almost feel this one..warm sunshine rays,a gentle touch, gentle whispers.... so soft and gentle. Very nice! not sure how I missed this one. :-)

You may have missed this one by a few years, Susan, but not nearly as many as I have while being deprived from the joy of receiving your lovely sentiments in review.
It's amazing how things become so misplaced around here … sort of like, the surprise of one day finding that $100 bill stuffed in a pocket for safekeeping, after forgetting about it being there.
As to the little bird's message: It's gifted many a gratefully warm, loving smile.

"Straight from my heart right into you" Richard, you have this mesmerizing way with little moments, with unique memories of sublime. I love how intricate and joyous and full of essence of pure love this is. Everytime I re-read this poem I am engulfed with this romantic contentment I shall never be able to describe. Reminiscence of graceful time and moments concealed in the wonderful nature that every tender touch of eyes and hands evoke it deeply. This is one of my most precious poems by you! Truthfully, I love how your perceive me as a poet and how you seem to enjoy my poems so appreciatively … brightly color me "touched and inspired".
"Infallible"? I would love to realistically believe so, but I know better. Even so, there is a concerted effort when composing to give it my utmost best, and to never make the lines feel forced, insincere, or pretentious in any way, that they flow unhampered, that what I'm feeling/trying to convey is simple and easily understood by readers of all levels.

Your review will stay with me for a long time, and who could blame me if it does, eh? ; )
