I agree with the writers slant on this piece. Softly sensual I'd say ~ Upon the banks of yonder Avon in Stratford a bard did lie. He thought of nothing else as pairs of swans go passing by: a lovely maiden he had wooed, appeared across the golden sky. . .and then that angel burst the bubble and drifted silently up above ~ i do now wonder why!

Perhaps, true love always feels this way... A life sustaining breath and souls set free. Too beautiful for my words that can't do this sonnet justice, my heart smiles.

Thank you for reading another of my humble pieces, and for your encouraging compliments that brightened my day! ⁓ Richard : )
you have skill in writing sonnets that are so authentic in the style of Shakespeare... you are highly immersed and use your great feelings of love, exuberance, solace and much more in all that you write
i like all of your sonnets so far...

Richard,
"An angel's love" just is a flowing and glistening tale of softness and comfort. I see it is a sonnet and I have never written one so this was a joy to read. I like your use of "glistening gem" and "shined like a polished gem". Of course the whole poem begins with this angel "was there she stood within a golden beam." Definitely many dream like phrases and the feeling of a dream is so real. All I can say is "I was impressed." Blessings to you..............Kathy

engrossing .. i was the "man" in this one all the way through ;) softly sensual is an apt description .. well chosen words and phrases accomplished the emotions attached .. dreamy love and warmth flowing .. i am wondering if you considered a different word choice than azure? it is a well worn phrase, tho not negative in your poem .. just wondering ;) such a feel good poem worth reading over again

Thank you most gratefully for your choice in this piece, and for such praise and appreciation expressed of my humble effort in composing and sharing it, as-well, sharing the resulting effect it has inspired in my readers' spirits.
A bit of (interesting?) personal history: It was at the tender age of nine, my Dear Aunt Kate began my poetic journey, by first teaching me the English Sonnet; then, the forms of Blank Verse, Free Verse, and Free Style poetry, and I've loved reading and composing in them ever since.
Thank you again, My Friend … blessings to you! ⁓ Richard
Love your dedication to form and I love the passion with which you write.. I especially enjoy the sonnets as one of my first friends here used to write them... this poem just as beautiful in sentiment: an angel made you whole and set your spirit free... gorgeous penning, Richard.

I used to write a lot of Sonnets, but I've gotten away from them of late, but your comments make me feel inspired to take them up anew.
May I know who your Sonneteering friend is? I'd love to read his/her work … I've come across no real Sonnet writers on the site (that is, who adhere to the true Sonnet form), though mattavelli did ask me to teach him the form, and he finally composed several perfect pieces.
Thank you so much, Thomas … I always look forward to your take my efforts! ⁓ Richard
