Boomer's SundownA Poem by Richard GuimondWe are on the endangered species listBoomer's Sundown by Richard Guimond ©2015 Whatever happened to those who said ''Don't trust anyone over thirty' Well..., they are in their seventies now And they are fading one by one Not a week passes without a tribute To some dead famous musician Not a week passes without being asked Hey guess who just passed away? We, boomers are fading one by one We are on the endangered species list Our time has passed, was such a good one Oh the kids got no clue of how it was! What a ride from Elvis to the Punk era Rock'n Roll, Flower Power ...We will rock ya ! 50's, 60's, 70's Oh what a ride! The 80's had to come to ruin it But the 90's gave us hope they went too Then a new millennium came, attitudes changed As the twin towers fell, we went from Drug dealer theme to terrorism overnight From meeting in loud shiny malls We met on the net, on FacelessBook We get in contact with people from forty years ago They seem closer than anyone around us We fall into the nostalgia dark pit As our senses fall one by one ...memories Everything changed ''All things must pass'' Only one thing resisted the flow of time Keith Richard is playing on a stage tonight!
