Storm

Storm

A Poem by Richard Guimond
"

Summer rain storm

"

Storm

Sat by my window

A flash startled me

Rumble in the sky

Change of air

Time to close windows

The storm was near

 Lightning stoke again

Solarized my sight

Lights flickered

Rain hit the roof

Gutters became

Water saxophone

Lights flickered again

Everything blacked out

Except the flashing window

Search for candles

As kid and bird screamed

Summer flash storm

Garden feeding rain

Nothing but go to bed

To wake up in the morning

As the clock flashed 12:00

Oh, the dreaded "who wants to re-set the alarm" ! Most alarms today have a second alarm built in, so now you have to re-set two alarms. Let's just go back to bed and take our chances!
