Monarch Griffin

Monarch Griffin

A Poem by Richard Guimond
"

Dream in Faery

"

Monarch Griffin

Tonight I know, I will go back to Faery country
Walk along the river, home of Frog Princes
And the green bronze armored Mandarin pike
In his reeds and Sargasso underwater court
I will see singing flowers return to buds
As fiery sun set over the verdoyant hills
See the flaming flock of monarch griffins
Set their halt on the water banks for the course of the night
This faery hour between selly and unselly court
Between dog and wolf of wolves and were wolves
When darkness put all colors to grey sleep
And in heavens glows the dragon's hellish breath

Fabulous Richard. A real treat for the minds eye. What magnificent creatures conjured here and done is such language - truly a pleasure to read.
